[Hmm. Frosty might not be a cat, but Katie still doesn't want him to get covered in vomit. Unpleasant for everyone, ew.]

Why don't you try to sleep, then? I'll try not to get you terribly lost in the meantime.

That would be nice, thank you. Sleep is hard when you can't breaze though... How do humans do it?

[ She's pretty sure Katie realizes by now that she's not human, anyway. ]

[Oh yes. She's known for a long time. (Plus you smell kind of like dog, but it's okay. Katie smells kind of like cat.)]

We do it at all the most interesting times and only stay up during the boring parts.

[Night time is awesome. Plus she isn't human, so. C'mon Frosty, let's lead you guys gently back home.]

[ Frosty gives Katie a gentle lick or two before padding alongside her. ]

S'at so? Knew it had to be something...

[ She falls silent and then, inexplicably, something occurs to her. ]

Don't tell Sam m'sick. He worries too much 'bout everyone.

Don't worry. I never tell Sam anything at all if I can help it.

[She grins innocently.] Makes it frightfully hard to have a conversation, sometimes.

'Atta girl.

[ Hard to have a conversation, huh? Yeah, Rose gets that. Keep to the basics, never reveal more than you have to. She lived that way a long, long time. ]

I think I've gotten better at talking about stuff. Have I gotten better? I hope so.

Well, you're talking more than the first time I met you. That's obviously a good thing.

[The first time she met you, you were dead.]

Definitely. It would have been weird if I was talking the first time you met me.

Though, zu know - I wouldn't put it past this place.

You could have been a zombie. But I think that would be very awkward.

[We're always discussing zombies, Rosie.]

That would have been so awkward.

[ Because zombies are the coolest, obviously. ]

Good thing it didn't happen. ... Are we zhere yet?

No. I'm afraid to say we're nowhere near Zhere. Which is a shame. I've always heard it's a fun place.

[They are very close to Rosie's home, though. At least you don't live that far from the cabin.]

[ Thank goodness for small blessings, right? She never did actually thank Katie for the proximity to the cabin, did she... Huh. When she has a bit more clarity, she'll probably do that. ]

It's probably the funnest. Oh well.

[ Frosty gives a little snuffle and walk a little faster as he picks up the scents of the house. ]

[Hopefully Rosie doesn't believe in somehow locking her door, because Katie's just gonna open the front door one way or another.]

I bet it's full of zebras. And complicated jackets.

[Door creaks inward. C'mon, sick person. Let's get you into bed.]

[ Inside the home is, first and foremost, a peaduck that quacks loudly at Katie. He feels inclined to invade the house whenever he sees fit and despite her best attempts Rose is at a loss as how to keep him out beyond what she's already attempted. So now she's just resigned to him living indoors whenever he chooses

The quack draws the attention of the sheep who then bleet loudly in response. Her other polar bear dog, Li, comes bounding forward to snuffle Katie and Frosty and Rosie before toddling off back to the bedside. There are a couple fire ferrets somewhere, too, and Perdita is outside with the sheep.

WELCOME TO HER ZOO, KATIE.

In addition to this happy mess, there are papers strewn about that it looks like the peaduck must have gotten into. They're all written on. ]

Complicated jackets are no f-- Hey, Li, how're you girl. Tahno, get outta' the house... [ No, she's not tired what are you talking about. ]

[This zoo is glorious. For a moment or six, she gets completely distracted by the sheer amount of different animals here and she takes in the entirety of the inside of Rosie's house. She totally has to come round more often.

Not hard to miss all the writing on the floor. Her first thought is totally innocent, honest: she'll pick it all up so sick!Rosie doesn't have to! She might...just get distracted while doing it, that's all.

But until then--]

Yes, Tahno, get out of the house. [Whichever one Tahno is.] But you should go to bed, Rosie. Would you like me to make you some chicken soup?

[ Did Katie say bed?

Because Rosie is there like yesterday. In fact, her offer to make chicken soup goes totally unheard since she is 100% zonked out on her pile of polar bear dog ( which is a totally great makeshift resting place ). ]

Transferring Rosie from polar bear dog to a more comfortable place to rest (for Frosty as well) is no trouble and pretty subtle for a small jump of this distance, and Katie will make sure Rosie is warm enough before...

...cleaning up this pile of papers. Yes.

Look, she may as well stick around to make sure Rosie doesn't need anything, so she needs something to pass the time.
