I can understand, yes. Whatever is within him is genuinely terrifying. There's something... fundamentally wrong with what he is.

[Which is not really something he's keen on saying, but what he'd seen had reminded him of the worst hellions back home.]

What's more jarring to me is that even with all of what I saw, he bears no malevolence. For someone with that level of darkness in him to not have any is... very unusual. It makes him very difficult to read.

[Sounds like a Disney villain tbh. She understands generally what that is, even if she does have trouble saying it, but not how it relates here.]

Put simply... it's like a corruption in someone's heart, created by internal conflict or evil thoughts. Seraphim and those who forge a bond with us are able to sense it in others, sort of like how you see those shadows.

Does that mean he's not a bad person?

It means either that, or he is bad and carries so much conviction for his chosen path that I'm not able to see into his heart. The latter is rare, but it's not unheard of.

No, that's not fair. It wouldn't be fair at all to hold him to fault for something he can't help. But she doesn't know how to fix it.]

[It matters a little. The difference between good and evil may simply be a line one can cross, but being on one side or the other dictates how one ought to be dealt with.

It's a tricky question, and one he's not certain of just yet.]

This may be hard, but I don't think you should do anything. You've given us warning, in your own way. We can use this to gather more information- on him, on his kind, and perhaps how to handle it without unnecessary bloodshed. Bring in more people, try to figure out the next step.

Your nature does not guarantee your behaviour. I'm a firm believer of that. Whatever he is, and whatever he feels in his soul, he hasn't done anything to anyone as far as I've witnessed. But it's better to be cautious, anyway.

[In all honesty, even though she feels a little guilty over it, Katie feels more relieved than anything else. She didn't want to deal with this in the first place, and if he hasn't hurt anyone, she's at least got the word out. Mikleo isn't hampered by having to lie about everything.]

I'm managing. I do feel somewhat misled, though- it's been annoying the whole time, and it has yet to wear off. I don't know how you stand it.

[Well, she lies. She can't help it. She also can't remember exactly what she said to him either, so after a moment of opening and shutting her mouth, she just looks unhappy. At least he can't see what she really looks like over a commlink.]

Because it's a stage with the curtains pulled back. Do you think everything we see is horrible? Kidnappers only seem to take the upsetting people.

Well, Sam had mentioned that he'd died before, and had some bad experiences with the supernatural. It makes sense.]
