Oh yeah, her thing. [The whole lying thing. It took Clay some time to realize what was going on, and then some time to try to get used to it.]

I usually try to switch around what she's saying in my head, but sometimes I just can't do it. What did she say? [He may or may not be already getting prepared to head over.] Would she mind if I came over, or should I leave her alone for a little while?

[Not that she can help it at all, but Sam's not sure how much he's supposed to trust this guy in particular. On the bright side, he reached out to Katie and sounded genuinely concerned. Small things. He rubs his chin, wondering how much to clue this guy in on.]
